Three Shoplifting Suspects Arrested Following Pursuit

Monday, 19 December 2016

Three women were arrested for shoplifting following a pursuit in West Knox County today. Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to Belk, located at 11397 Parkside Drive, around 12:40 p.m. after being notified by multiple Turkey Creek retailers that a group of three women were shoplifting in area stores. When officers confronted the suspects outside Belk, the suspects fled on foot into a silver Dodge Caliber. When officers instructed them to get out of the vehicle, they fled the parking lot in the vehicle, making contact with multiple officers. An officer fired one round at the suspect vehicle’s rear window. The suspects led KCSO on a high-speed chase down Parkside Drive, during which, the suspects crashed into multiple vehicles.

All three suspects were taken into custody around the Campbell Station Road and Parkside Drive intersection. Charges are pending for multiple counts of aggravated assault, theft, evading arrest, and fleeing. More information will be released as details develop.
