Man Charged with Killing Parents Extradited from Baton Rouge
The man arrested for killing and dismembering his parents in their West Knox County home in November is being extradited from Baton Rouge to Knox County today. Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Thursday for 28-year-old Joel Michael Guy, Jr.’s extradition hearing. He is being transported to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility by KCSO Major Crimes detectives and KCSO Criminal Warrants officers today.
Guy, Jr. is charged with first degree murder for killing his parents, 61-year-old Joel Michael Guy, Sr. and 55-year-old Lisa Guy at their home on Goldenview Lane in West Knox County. They are believed to have been murdered between Friday, November 25, 2016 and Saturday, November 26, 2016. Both suffered vicious stab wounds, as well as dismemberment. Their remains were found in multiple rooms in the house. Guy, Jr. placed portions of the remains in an acid-based solution in an attempt to destroy evidence. He was arrested on November 29,, 2016 at his apartment complex in Baton Rouge. He is charged with two counts of first degree murder and will be held in Knox County on a (combined) $2,000,000 bond.
