KCSO Looking for Assault/Robbery Suspect

Wednesday, 15 March 2017

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating a case where a Corryton man came home to find a stranger inside his residence that assaulted and robbed him.  Sixty-five year old Robert McCowan returned to his home on Shelton Road Tuesday night around 11:30 when an unknown male suspect hit him in the head with a metal pipe and took multiple items from the house.  Shelton is in the hospital where he is being treated for head wounds.

The suspect left the residence in the victim’s vehicle and the KCSO Major Crimes Unit is asking for help in identifying the suspect and finding McCowan’s 2008 Nissan Altima, 4 door sedan, grey-blue in color.  It has a Tennessee tag, 795-DCV.   No description of the suspect at this time.  Please call KCSO at 215-2242 if you have any information.
