Deadly Crash on I-40 Claims another Victim
Two people have now died in a four car crash that occurred Tuesday at 5:30 on I-40 near Midway Road. Bryan Hannan, 22, of Strawberry Plains died earlier today at U.T. Medical Center. A 54 year old woman died at the scene. Her name isn’t being released yet because authorities have been unable to locate any relatives. She was a passenger in a blue Toyota Camry driven by Chris Tueriff, 69 of Sevierville. Charges are pending against him. He was traveling east on I-40 when he lost control of his car and went into the median. The vehicle went airborne into the westbound lanes of I-40 and landed on the Honda Accord driven by Hannan. The Camry came to a stop in the center lane and was struck by a white Dodge Ram driven by David Bridger, 22, of Arlington, Texas. A Mazda driven by William Piper Jr., 37, of Pigeon Forge was unable to stop and struck the Toyota. Tueriff and Hannon were both transported by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center. Bridger and Piper were not hurt. Investigators believe drugs and alcohol were factor in the wreck.
