The Knox County Sheriff’s Office congratulates June’s Detective of the Month, Kenneth Aken.

During the course of being on call for two days in June, Detective Aken responded to the following calls: 

He conducted an investigation in reference to a domestic violence case that resulted in the arrest of a suspect who had been on the run for more than 36 hours.

He was called to investigate a domestic violence shooting case where he obtained two warrants for aggravated assault. Detective Aken placed the victims in a safe location while arrangements were made to arrest the suspect who was intoxicated and suicidal, and threatened suicide by cop.

He was also called to investigate a sexual battery and kidnapping complaint. His investigation resulted in obtaining two warrants for the suspect’s arrest, one for aggravated kidnapping and one for aggravated sexual battery.

Detective Aken’s dedication to his work resulted in the arrest of three suspects for felony crimes of domestic violence with bonds totaling $155,000.

Detective Aken has been with the KCSO since February 2004 and works in the Family Crisis Unit.
