August 2017 Officer of the Month

Monday, 02 October 2017

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office congratulates May’s Officer of the Month, Joshua Bowers.

On August 15th, Officer Bowers responded to a domestic assault call in which the victim stated that the suspect had assaulted her and violated an Order of Protection she had taken out against him. Officer Bowers was already very familiar with the suspect, as he has a lengthy criminal history and a lengthy history of tormenting and assaulting the victim and attempting to elude police. Officer Bowers understood that the suspect had recently become more aggressive and violent. He canvassed a large part of South Knox County before locating the suspect and taking him into custody without incident that same day. His charges included two counts of aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen handgun, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Officer Bowers has been with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office since December 2006.
