Student Charged for Social Media Threats and Possessing a Handgun

A 17-year-old Knox County high school student was arrested today for posting threatening content on a social media site and for possessing a handgun. The Knox County Sheriff?s office Juvenile Crime Task Force began investigating a threatening image and video today that had been posted on Snapchat. The teenage girl was charged with filing false reports and possession of a handgun (as a juvenile). She is being held in the Richard L. Bean Detention Center pending a hearing.
