KCSO Arrests Man Wanted for Attempted Second Degree Murder

The man wanted for shooting his ex-girlfriend in West Knox County last Wednesday is in custody. Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Antonio Williams of Knoxville just after 10:00 on Sunday night in front of a hotel on Pratt Road. Officers confiscated 7.5 grams of heroin and a large amount of cash during the arrest.

 

Williams is responsible for shooting at his girlfriend on March 28th just after 9:00 a.m. The incident started when the woman was pulling out of the Weigel’s at Middlebrook and Ball Camp. Williams continued to shoot at her as she drove on Ball Camp and stopped shooting when she was driving on Chert Pit Road. She pulled into the Weigel’s at Cedar Bluff and ran inside for help. She had been shot in the abdomen and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at UT Medical Center.

 

Williams is charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder, two counts of employing a firearm with the intent to go armed during a dangerous felony, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and schedule I drugs. He is being held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a combined $775,000 bond. He has a criminal history in Knox County that includes driving while privilege suspended.
