Two Charged with Firing into Houses in North Knox County

Tuesday, 19 June 2018

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and officers from Patrol arrested two men for firing into an occupied house and into two other unoccupied houses Sunday morning in North Knox County.  Joshua Tucker, 24, from Oak Ridge, and Rickey Lee Hensley, 18, from Pedigo Road were taken into custody and charged with two counts each of reckless endangerment.

The investigation began when officers responded to Jann Drive for reports of gun shots into a house.  John Bailey said that his family was inside the house when a shot came through the house and shattered the glass on a picture on the wall.  A child was just ten feet away.  While officers were on the scene, they received a call of gunshots hitting another house on Jann Drive.  It was determined the shots were coming from 8437 Pedigo Road where the two suspects were found along with the weapons.  Both suspects admitted to firing a 9mm pistol and a 9mm rifle from the backyard of the Pedigo Road house. Officers said there was no backstop and shots had been fired into a tree line and other dwellings. Tucker told officers that they had fire approximately one hundred rounds between the two of them.  Tucker was released on bond from the Knox County Jail.  Hensley remains in jail.  Mug shots below:  Tucker-left, Hensley-right.
