Thursday, 02 August 2018

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office investigated a wreck that happened this afternoon in the west lane at the 640 split injuring two Animal Control Officers.  Desiree Merrritt (43) and Jevon Hinkley(38) stopped at the side of the road to see if Knoxville Police Officers needed any help as they worked a wreck without injury.  While the two officers were in the truck, a 2003 Toyota Camry reportedly hydroplaned and struck the left rear of the truck. Both officers were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.  Their conditions are unknown at this time.  The driver of the Camry, Aaron Vogel, 20, was evaluated at the scene by paramedics.  He was issued a ticket for due care.
