Tuesday, 18 September 2018

On Sunday, September 16, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a post on social media threatening Carter Middle School.  Investigators located the post which advised that the suspect, a 13 year old student at the school, intended to “shoot that (Expletive) up”.

This morning the student provided a statement and admitted that it was a joke.   The student was taken into custody for Filing False Reports and Harassment and was transported to the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Facility.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the quick response by the community in reporting the incident.
