KCSO Hosts Night Out
Seventeen Knox County neighborhoods are participating in National Night out on Tuesday, October 1. This is the time of the year that thousands of communities nationwide join forces to help fight crime and drugs by locking their doors, turning on outside lights and spending the evening with neighbors and law enforcement. KCSO will have K-9s, officers, and motorcycles at most of the locations. The helicopter may also be landing at some of the get-togethers.
Night Out is designed to bring attention to crime and drug prevention awareness and general support of anti-crime efforts. It’s also a good way to strengthen neighborhood and police partnerships and it sends a message to criminals that a neighborhood is organized and fighting back.
