  • Birth Certificate
  • High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalency Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • DD-214 (if applicable) Please Note: You must have an Honorable Discharge from the Military. General Discharge under Honorable Conditions is allowable for Corrections and Civilian positions but requires a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Waiver Certification for Patrol and Law Enforcement positions.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate through the State of Tennessee (if applicable)
  • Nursing License (if applicable)
  • O.S.T. Certificate, Basic Police Academy Certificate and hourly breakdown of academy curriculum (if P.O.S.T. Certified outside the State of Tennessee.
  • Physical Fitness Standards Test
    • Run –  Complete a 1.5 mile run under 15 minutes and 47 seconds.
    • Sit-ups –  Complete 24 sit-ups in a 1 minute time period.
    • Push-ups– Complete 20 push-ups without stopping.
