Marine & Shore Patrol


Watching the waterways



The Knox County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Team promotes boater safety and enforces the laws and regulations as set forth by the state of Tennessee and the U.S. Coast Guard. One of the team operations objectives is to patrol the lakes and waterways of Knox County to ensure their safety and to protect life and property of its users. They also assist other agencies in law enforcement searches, and special events at the discretion of the Sheriff or his designees. The Marine Patrol also renders aid to recreational and commercial boaters that may find themselves in distress while using Knox County’s lakes and waterways. At the Sheriff’s discretion, boat support for all Sheriff’s Special Teams missions is also provided by the Marine Patrol.
