ORC

The Organized Retail Crime Unit is responsible for the apprehension of those who commit theft from local retailers and work those individuals to shut down fencing operations. Those who commit Organized Retail Crime are not your typical “shoplifter” who steal a pack of gum. These individuals work in teams and travel throughout the area to commit theft, often in order to fuel drug habits.

Our Work

The ORCU works closely with the Tennessee Dept. of Revenue, The Tennessee Dept. of Human Services and multiple local retailers to combat not only lost revenue, but also prevent EBT Fraud. The estimated loss of revenue (tax dollars) for 2017 for Tennessee was $22 million dollars. If you have a tip to submit to the ORCU please call 865-999-0326 and you will remain anonymous.

The Organized Retail Crime Unit works diligently to keep you and your possessions safe.  Seeking out individuals and teams of criminals who plan out property crimes causes a deterrent from such activities.

Organized retail crime is not spur of the moment activities.  These crimes are sought out in advance with detailed planning and organization between individuals.

**If this is an emergency or if you are in need of police response, please call 911**
