Just before 11:00 a.m. this morning, Knox County Sheriff’s Office Patrol & Fire Investigation Units and the Karns Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1700 block of Hickory Reserve Road. Upon arrival, they discovered one structure fully involved in the fire, which was spreading to other structures due to high winds. A total of four homes were damaged, and two of the houses were destroyed as a result of the fire. The origin and cause of the fire for the initial structure will be investigated by KCSO’s Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. No injuries were reported at the time of the fires.

At approximately 12:45 pm, another house fire involving multiple vehicles was reported in the 8100 block of Chapman Highway at Hendron Chapel. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded with the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, Knoxville Fire Department, and Rural Metro Fire Department. The home appeared to be a vacant structure but was also destroyed due to the fire. Multiple vehicles were also damaged. No injuries were reported at the time of the fire. The origin and cause of this fire is also under investigation by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Fire and Explosives Unit.
