Silver wrecked car with driver door open at night
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office East Patrol Units were conducting an investigation on a suspicious person in the area of Brakebill Road and Strawberry Plains Pike in East Knox County around 11:20pm. The suspect hit one of the Patrol Units head on and fled. The suspect failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated. The Pursuit ended after the suspect rammed another Knox County Sheriff’s Office Cruiser causing it to hit a telephone pole head on. The suspect was taken into custody at 12:14am.

At this hour the Patrol Officer driving that cruiser has been transported to UTMC for non-life threatening injuries. We will update on his condition after he is evaluated.
Sheriff Tom Spangler asks that you keep his Officer in your prayers.
The suspect will be named at a later time. Multiple charges will be forthcoming. This is an ongoing investigation.
