With the continuing rise of Elderly Scams via email, phone call, or in person, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Technology Division is asking for the public’s assistance! If you have a loved one, a neighbor, a friend, a relative, or if you know anyone over the age of 65. We need you to CALL THEM and ask a couple of questions!

Ask them the following:

1. Is anyone trying to get you to pay them money? Anyone at all; gift card, debit card, or cash?

2. Has anyone contacted you saying you missed a court date, or that a loved one is in trouble and they need money from you to help get them out of trouble?
If your loved one answers YES to ANY of these questions, please contact the Knox County Sheriffs Office @ 865-215-2243 and report what you have learned. Likewise, you may send an email to
Crimetips@knoxsheriff.org

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office have noticed a recent onslaught of several—and reoccurring—differing types of elderly scams. Help us STOP this cycle, please, and reach out today!
