December 1, 2024 | 12:45 am

Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for shots fired just before 11:30 pm on November 30th near a mobile home park on Mynatt Road in the Halls Community. Upon arrival, three suspects were detained, and three suspects fled the area; one of those suspects was apprehended by a KCSO K9 in an adjacent trailer park. Officers and Air watch continued to canvas the area and spotted one of the still outstanding suspects near Maynarville Hwy and Shotsman. Officers were able to safely detain that individual as well.

As Officers were with the suspect at Maynardville Hwy and Shotsman, multiple additional shots were fired in their direction. The road from Foley Drive to Fountain Valley is partially shut down, and three additional suspects have been detained near Fountain Valley Drive. It is unclear at this time if these individuals’ were involved with shots fired in the officers direction. The investigation is in the preliminary stage and rapidly evolving.

We do not have a suspect description or the total number of suspects for the second incident, where multiple shots were fired in the officer’s direction, but we ask you to remain vigilant. If you see something or someone suspicious, please call 911.

UPDATE ONE- 4:45 PM
-TWO SUSPECTS ARE IN CUSTODY-
The scene is secure. However, Detectives are asking the public to avoid the area while they continue their investigation. This appears to be an isolated incident.
