Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler identifies the victim from Tuesday’s Homicide: Michael Beatty DOB 07/29/1978. Mr. Beatty was found deceased just before 10am on August 11, 2020.
Detectives with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit are currently investigating. Lt. Sanders says they have been following up on leads throughout the night and into today.

Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a deceased male just before 10am this morning at 406 Dry Gap Pike in Knox County, Tennessee.
When Deputies arrived they discovered a deceased male believed to be in his early 40’s. Knox County Major Crimes Unit, Forensic’s Unit and Sheriff Tom Spangler responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation concludes the male had been shot. The victims body was transported via AMR to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center where an autopsy will be performed.
