Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Monday morning to a reported stabbing involving two students at a Halls High School.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 16-year-old male student (11th grade) stabbed a 15-year-old male student (10th grade) with a sharp object during a barbering class. (not a knife)

The 15-year-old victim was transported by ambulance to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 16-year-old suspect has been taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault.

Due to the ages of those involved, no names or identifying information will be released. The investigation remains ongoing by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Crimes Unit.
