Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies received multiple calls for service on Saturday morning beginning around 0900am.  Multiple callers stated a suspect driving a dark gray pickup truck was firing rounds at cars and homes in the area.

A resident on Norman Lane in Powell called E-911 at approximately 0919am, stating a man matching the description given by previous callers had made entry into his home.

At approximately 0927am, deputies arrived on the scene where shots were fired.  The suspect was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center; his condition is unknown at this time. Deputies were NOT injured as a result of the gunfire.

Sheriff Tom Spangler states the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) will be conducting the investigation.  No further information will be released at this time; subsequent information may be available at the discretion of the TBI.
