Mr. Harris states this is another way they can give back to those who sacrifice daily to protect our community, he also explained he and his wife are avid dog lovers and wanted our K-9’s and their handlers to know how much they are appreciated for the job they do.
Sheriff Tom Spangler is excited the K-9 Unit will be able to get some much needed equipment, SOD for the training area that will prevent injuries to both the handlers and the K-9’s, the area has been unable to grow grass and has basically been a muddy practice field.
“I am honored and humbled by the generosity of Mr. & Mrs. Harris and the entire Knoxville Wholesale Furniture Family. These K-9’s are Officers too and we want them to be treated as such and cared for as family. Our handlers work long hours even on their days off continuously training with their partners they are deserving and this incredible gift helps alleviate the budget short fall this year. Thank you seems inadequate.” Tom Spangler
