Tom Spangler, Knox County Sheriff has some great news for his Deputies/Support Staff and Corrections Staff as well as Children’s Hospital. Sheriff Spangler decided all employees will be allowed once again to participate in the “Toss the Razor” Campaign. The campaign raised money for various local charities during “No Shave November and Double Down December” in 2019. This year Sheriff Spangler is making some changes to the ever popular charitable campaign. The first change, all proceeds will go directly to Children’s Hospital. Their big fundraiser “Fantasy of Trees” had to be cancelled this year due to COVID-19.
Sheriff Tom Spangler thought this would be a way to help alleviate some of the financial strain that cancelling the event will cause. In addition, he wants to do what he can to help our areas most vulnerable children live long, healthy lives.
The second change will be exciting for the employees at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office but also financially beneficial to the Hospital. All KCSO employees will be allowed to “toss those razors” beginning in October this year and will carry through the month of December!
Each participating employee will contribute $25.00 per month in exchange for “tossing their razors”. “This is a great way to give back to our community & our children while allowing our employees to have fun!” Sheriff Tom Spangler
